Ms. Alison Hoffmann To All Instructors
My name is Alison Hoffmann, and I am very excited to join the homeschooling community by offering a few classes which may assist you in teaching your children. My sole goal is to give your children the best possible learning experience in order to support you with their education.
My background in teaching includes students of preschool age and students in grades 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8 in private school, classroom settings and private tutoring. I started teaching classes in my neighborhood at age 11 (although I was not a degree holder at that time) and never stopped teaching from that point. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in math and English, and then, I took quite a few graduate level courses in teaching mathematics.
I love teaching math to elementary aged students and always strive to make learning meaningful, fun, and inspirational. To me, the goal of teaching a child is to inspire a child to continue to want to learn beyond the classroom and beyond their years of formal learning. If a child strives to learn on his/her own for the entirety of his/her life, then I believe I will have done my job.
Please read the descriptions of the classes I am offering and ask me any questions you would like about what I will teach, my teaching style, my expectations of students, etc. I welcome open communication so your child will get the best learning experiences possible.
I look forward to meeting and/or speaking with you. Please call or email me with any questions you have. I hope to see your children in one or more of the classes I am offering. Thank you.
